8 Candy Crafts to Make During February Break

 

For many people, February break is coming up, and kids will be out of school for a week – which means parents are looking for fun things to do! 

In that spirit, we've made a list of fun candy crafts you can make with the whole family. Even if you don't have kids with a break coming up – these crafts are worth checking out. They make great gifts, too! 😊

 

1. Candy Kabobs

Ingredients:

  • Assorted candies (gummy bears, marshmallows, licorice, etc.)
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions:

  1. Gather your desired candies and skewers.
  2. Slide the candies onto the skewers, alternating colors and shapes to create a visually appealing arrangement.
  3. Once finished, serve immediately or wrap in cellophane for a colorful gift.

2. Candy Necklaces

Ingredients:

  • Colorful candy rings (such as Life Savers or gummy rings)
  • String or twine

Instructions:

  1. Cut a length of string or twine to your desired necklace length.
  2. Thread the candy rings onto the string, alternating colors as you go.
  3. Tie the ends of the string together to secure the necklace, and enjoy wearing or snacking on your sweet accessory.

3. Chocolate Pretzel Rods

Ingredients:

  • Pretzel rods
  • Melting chocolate (white, milk, or dark)
  • Assorted sprinkles or crushed candies

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate according to package instructions.
  2. Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, coating it halfway.
  3. Immediately sprinkle the coated portion with your choice of sprinkles or crushed candies.
  4. Place the pretzel rods on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set, then enjoy once the chocolate has hardened.

4. Candy-Coated Popcorn

Ingredients:

  • Popcorn
  • Candy melts or melted chocolate
  • Assorted candies (M&M's, Reese's Pieces, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Pop the popcorn and spread it out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Drizzle the melted chocolate or candy melts over the popcorn.
  3. Sprinkle the assorted candies over the chocolate-covered popcorn.
  4. Allow the chocolate to set before breaking the popcorn into clusters and serving.

5. Marshmallow Snowmen

Ingredients:

  • Large marshmallows
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Orange candy melts or icing
  • Assorted candies for decorating

Instructions:

  1. Skewer three marshmallows onto a pretzel stick to create the snowman's body.
  2. Use melted chocolate to attach mini chocolate chips for the eyes and buttons.
  3. Use melted orange candy melts or icing to create a carrot-shaped nose.
  4. Decorate the snowman with assorted candies for accessories such as scarves or hats.

6. Candy Sushi

Ingredients:

  • Rice crispy treats
  • Fruit roll-ups
  • Gummy worms or bears
  • Swedish fish
  • Licorice ropes

Instructions:

  1. Flatten a rice crispy treat and place a fruit roll-up on top.
  2. Add assorted candies in the center of the roll-up.
  3. Roll the rice crispy treat and fruit roll-up together, then slice into sushi-sized pieces.
  4. Serve and enjoy your candy sushi rolls!

7. Candy Bouquet

Ingredients:

  • Assorted candies on sticks (lollipops, candy bars, etc.)
  • Styrofoam ball or block
  • Decorative container
  • Tissue paper or shredded paper filler

Instructions:

  1. Insert the candy sticks into the styrofoam ball or block, arranging them in a bouquet shape.
  2. Place the styrofoam ball or block into the decorative container filled with tissue paper or shredded paper filler to hold it in place.
  3. Display your candy bouquet as a centerpiece or gift it to someone special.

8. Candy Bark

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate (white, milk, or dark)
  • Assorted candies (M&M's, crushed peppermints, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate according to package instructions.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the assorted candies over the melted chocolate.
  4. Allow the chocolate to set before breaking the bark into pieces and serving.
