Top 10 Candies to Eat On a Road Trip

Did you know that 93% of road trips include candy?

Summer means beach days, time with family, and carefree, sunny days. With all of that also comes ROAD TRIPS!

When was the last time you went on a road trip with family or friends?I love the feeling of excitement that everyone shares – everything is packed, you're on the road bright and early, and adventure awaits.

But we want to talk about one very important aspect of hitting the road.

Whether you pack them beforehand or make a stop along the way, we can probably all agree that snacks are a crucial part of a good road trip. And, most of the time, (93% of the time, in fact...) that means candy!

In honor of Summer Road Trips, we asked our followers on social media to share their favorite candy to eat on the road. Based on those responses...we've put together a list of the Top 10 Road Trip Candies.

Let's see if you agree with the list!

10. Lemonheads

If you love sour candy, these make perfect sense. The box makes them easy to grab, and they evoke so much Summertime nostalgia.

That is, if you can actually find them on the road! (We recommend packing them beforehand)...

9.  Sour Patch Kids

Remember being in the backseat of your parents' car, munching on Sour Patch Kids? Maybe it was a different candy for you – but you get the idea! That's what comes to mind when we think of eating these on a road trip.

8.  Kit Kats

This is the only chocolate bar that made it to the list!

Kit Kats are awesome in general – but they're also perfect for your road-trip chocolate fix. They're easy to share without making a mess, which comes in handy on the road.

7. Cinnamon Imperials

This one may not be for everyone...but if you love spicy candy, they make sense. They're the perfect size for front-seat snacking.

6. Wintergreen Lifesavers

We were a little surprised by this one!

We get it, though...this is something refreshing you can grab quickly when you make a pitstop.

5. Tootsie Rolls/Tootsie Pops

This is a classic!

You get the taste of chocolate and the texture of a chewy candy all in one. Tootsie Pops can be a way to pass the time, too – count how many licks it takes!

4. Salt Water Taffy

If you're traveling to the beach...no beach trip is complete without Salt Water Taffy!

When you buy some during your beach day, does it actually make it home – or do you eat it all on the car ride back?

3. Gummy Worms

This is a quintessential road trip snack.

They make you feel like a kid like a kid again...and there's just something about eating gummies on the road!

2. Swedish Fish

The runner up!

Swedish Fish are another road trip classic. Their texture makes them perfect for eating one after the next – as you listen to your favorite songs or take in the scenery.

1. Twizzlers

In first place...

Twizzlers! This was the top choice by a landslide. Twizzlers are great all the time, but there's just something about eating them on a road trip! Maybe it's because they're easy for the driver to grab – and easy to pass around and share.

What do you think? Do Twizzlers deserve the top spot?

We'd love to hear YOUR all-time favorite road trip candy. Let us know in the comments!
